“TOP HONOUR FOR CHESTER
HOLIDAY HOME"
A holiday cottage in Chester is setting its sights on national
recognition after being awarded top honours in the first-ever England’s
Northwest Tourism Awards, organised by the Northwest Regional Development
Agency.
Jasmine Cottage at Meadowside Mews near Chester city centre beat
off competition from throughout Cumbria, Lancashire, Greater Manchester
and Merseyside to win the Self Catering Holiday of the Year award
at a glittering awards’ ceremony at the Imperial War Museum, North
Manchester.
Judges singled out Jasmine Cottage for its high standards of facilities
and service and its attention to detail.
The Award was accepted on behalf of Jasmine Cottage owners by
the Cheshire and Warrington Tourism Board.
This is the latest in a series of accolades for the business,
operated by Chester Holiday Cottages. Jasmine Cottage won a gold
award at the North West Tourism Awards in 2001 and was the first
business of its kind in the North West to be awarded the highest
Five Star Rating by the former English Tourism Council.
Jasmine Cottage will now go forward to represent the region as
finalists in the national “Enjoy England Excellence Awards” organised
by VisitBritain.
Cheshire and Warrington Tourism Board Director of Marketing and
Communications
Barrie Kelly visited Jasmine Cottage to hand over the trophy to
delighted owner, Karen Buchan.
Barrie commented: “The judges at these high-profile awards were
prepared only to consider entries that could demonstrate the highest
possible quality standards in all aspects of their business.
It’s a tremendous achievement for Jasmine Cottage to have secured
this award. Their attention to detail in ensuring the comfort of
their guests has set the standard for others to follow.”
Another Cheshire business, Busybus coach tours of Little Budworth,
received a judges’ commendation for their entry in the Tourism
Website of the Year category.” |
